As an Independent Registered Equine Nutritionist I’m lucky enough to be involved in many Equine owning sectors. From racing horse trainers to the owner of a much loved retired pony. The one thing I find they have in common, is wanting to do right by the horse. Now it’s been said that “Disease is the price the horse paid for domestication”, and I believe winter can be the best demonstration of this in practice. As conditions get tougher with colder weather, poorer grass, the reliance on dried forage, and fewer day light hours, we often need to change how we manage our horses.
