"A relaxed, Calm and happy yard"

Marwood Equestrian has everything you could wish for in a livery yard. The facilities are superb, and the care is second to none. Just how a yard should be with friendly and approachable staff who really do have your horse’s wellbeing at heart.

Sarah has been my coach/trainer for several years now and her enthusiasm and support keeps on growing as my progress develops. She is constantly explaining, planning and adapting our program for the best results in our training.

I can honestly say that Marwood Equestrian is the best find in all my years doing equestrian disciplines. The support and encouragement all the liveries have for each other is like having a second horsey family up at Marwood. A fantastic atmosphere especially when we spend so much down time at the yard.

We first met Sarah when my son attended a BS training academy, as a shy novice rider jumping 70cm and very new to British Showjumping. Taylor came away with a massive smile on his face and wanting to learn more. We attended more sessions with Sarah, as we found her very approachable and professional. Over the past three years Sarah has invested her time in helping Taylor progress, with a really positive approach to riding. Sarah has coached Taylor into achieving – 148 Bronze League Final, Scope Finals two years running, British Novice Final, Discovery Second Rounds, Winners of Area 12 Novice Pony Award and two Blue Chip Finals. All of this was supported by lessons, on the day warm ups or over the phone guidance. Not only has Sarah encouraged Taylor with riding, she has supported him to work on the NAF 5* training programme, where he is currently working on his 3*. This will be Taylor’s last year on ponies so Sarah has helped us find a horse to suit to make the transition. Our horse is currently on livery with Sarah to help with the transition and is looked after to such a high standard. I can not recommend Sarah enough, she is passionate, knowledgeable and truly a lovely person. It says it all when Taylor says she is his inspiration.

Sarah has enabled me to develop techniques which have taken me from being reluctant to canter over a pole on the ground to confidently jumping BE80(T) tracks. Over the years, prior to meeting Sarah, my confidence had been eroded and I was giving the horse very mixed signals. Sarah’s coaching style instilled confidence and helped me develop  and embed my own approach. The horse is certainly happier in his work and thoroughly enjoys his jumping now. Regardless of the fact that my aspirations are modest and I will never make the Olympics! Sarah is always focused in our sessions and she always makes me feel important.  She is a fabulous coach.

I’ve been having lessons with Sarah for a year now and in that time she has helped me develop a more confident and competent SJ partnership with both my horses. What I like about Sarah is that she is a proper coach. She teaches you on your horse on that day BUT she sets it in the wider context of what you are trying to achieve short, medium and longer term. She also quickly picks up how you and your horse both learn and adapts her style so that you and your horse get the most out of the coaching time you have. She encourages, but doesn’t force, and she is a coach you can be honest with - what is working, what isn’t and she is always at the end of the phone when you need her.
